The former Clarence Hotel was built in the late 1870s by the Hardiman family. Timothy Hardiman, a descendant of this family, owned the Clarence during its rebirth as Hardimans Hotel in the '40s. Designed to look like an ocean liner and equipped with portholes, the hotel was a vision of pre-World War II 'modern' architecture.
Then on the 1st of January 1998, the new owners took over the running and the development of Hardimans Hotel. The renovations started off by removing the grate-covered porthole windows and installing clear glass to the ground floor. The iconic corner (the 'bow'), which used to be the men's loos, was unveiled as a great spot to sit, or the stage area for nightly live music!
Two double ensuite rooms are available upstairs at Hardiman's. Check in with us via email or phone for further info and pricing.
With beautiful sunshine and plentiful shade, the Hardiman's beer garden is the perfect place to spend an afternon or evening!
